What started as an interest to travel around his country became, for Germán Darío Naranjo, the inspiration to create a business. In 1989 he started to hike around the towns and villages of Antioquia with his college friends, he then passed on his enthusiasm for adventure to fellow students at the University of Antioquia and now he wants to do the same with people from all over the department.
Arewaro, which means “a meeting of friends” in the dialect of the Wayú people, is a business dedicated to eco-tourism, which promotes environmental education, training and the recognition of Colombia as a country rich in cultural and natural diversity.
The tour agency, which is opening its doors to the Antioquian public, also organizes ecological hikes, adventure tourism, scientific eco-tourism and family trips.

AREWARO INITIATIVE AS AN ENTERPRISE
Arewaro, meaning "gathering of friends" in the dialect Wayúusurge as a recreational and academic initiatives such as healthy life plan in harmony with nature. It is in the form of enterprise to promote sustainable alternatives framed in the management of ethnic tourism, ecotourism and adventure areas in which they provide and offer our customers a January training guidance and environmental education, thus enabling increase understanding and greater enjoyment of protected areas, strategic ecosystems and cultures that will be visited by the various programs and travel plans organized throughout Colombia, and is also a strategy to ensure the provision of a more comprehensive and professional service.
Arewaro is composed of an interdisciplinary group of professionals efficiently meet the objectives, services and activities, from the experience and skills of its members. To do this has a history of 20 years working in national parks, leadership and creation of environmental groups and walkers, as teachers and trainers, and promoters of ecotourism in communities and implementing ecotourism programs at regional and national levels.
From the knowledge and use of the natural potentials of regions, it is intended to assure customers a better recreation and leisure., So as to take advantage of wealth existing landscape and biodiversity, while the momentum builds and development initiatives and local community organizations that benefit from the programs implemented by Arewaro. |
